Fertilization, embryo culture, and freezing happen in the laboratory, then come back to you through your physician.
The laboratory is why a fertility center is not only a clinic. After eggs are collected, embryologists identify them, prepare sperm, and carry out the fertilization method in the plan: conventional IVF or ICSI.
Culture and freezing
Embryos are kept in culture for the number of days agreed. The notes from those days are explained by the physician. Embryos that are not transferred can be frozen. Frozen embryos are stored for a later cycle, not as a guarantee of pregnancy.
What you can ask
Ask how many eggs were mature, how many fertilized, and how the embryos developed. Those answers belong to your cycle. This page only describes the path. Photographs of the actual laboratory replace the gallery illustration when the center uploads them.
