Who it may suit
It is discussed when tubes are blocked or damaged, when semen findings are significant, when simpler treatment has not led to pregnancy, or when embryos may also be tested genetically. The physician confirms whether it is the right next step.
What a cycle involves
Ovarian stimulation with monitoring visits, egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo culture, and transfer. Embryos that are not transferred can be frozen when that is appropriate. Between retrieval and transfer, the laboratory team carries the work.
The first visit
Bring earlier reports, semen analysis, hormone results, and operation notes if you have them. Both partners are welcome. Cost is discussed after the assessment, because medicines and laboratory steps differ from one case to another.
