More than one pregnancy loss, and a structured look at what can be tested before the next conception.
Recurrent miscarriage is usually defined as more than one confirmed pregnancy loss. The consultation does not start by promising a single cause. Many couples never receive one explanation.
What is reviewed
How far each pregnancy went, any tissue tests, uterine imaging, thyroid and other blood results, and whether either partner has a known chromosome finding. Genetic testing of embryos is one option that may be discussed. It is not the default.
How the next pregnancy is planned
Some findings change medicine before conception. Others change nothing except closer early follow-up. The visit separates those two situations.
